STRENGTH training for hiking

Core, lower body, upper body - you will be using all your muscles when hiking. By incorporating a strength training regime in the weeks prior to a big adventure, you will be helping to prevent injuries and improve balance and stability over rough terrain.

This is all about adaptation - hiking training will help you get used to the terrain, hills, and walking with a backpack for a number of hours.

Your packing list might give you a fright first time you see it! We are here to guide you in choosing the most cost-effective equipment while perhaps saving money on unneeded gadgets.

The HIKEfit initiative is led by Ryan Saliba Gazzano, an experienced guide and coach for all your outdoor needs.

 

He has spent ten years working in a specialised outdoor shop, has managed hikes to Nepal and other countries, and has taken part in ultra-running races, making him your go-to when wanting to push yourself to the next level.
